Robert Vito will not face criminal charges following his arrest last month on a felony domestic violence charge, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Instead, Vito is scheduled to attend a hearing with the city attorney to discuss alternative conflict resolution methods, aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As TMZ reports, the case will remain inactive as long as Vito avoids any legal troubles over the next year, at which point it will be permanently dismissed.
The arrest stemmed from an alleged altercation with his then-girlfriend, Lindsey Jennings. During the incident, Jennings claimed Vito pushed their son and threw him onto a couch amid an argument. Officers reported visible injuries on Jennings, leading to Vito’s arrest. However, a couple of weeks later, the district attorney’s office declined to file felony charges, and now, even misdemeanor charges have been ruled out.
Vito’s attorney, Bob M. Farahan, stated that they believe Vito’s arrest was unnecessary, attributing it to law enforcement’s reliance on limited information. Farahan emphasized that Vito does not condone violence of any kind and is focused on moving past the incident to remain an active and present father for his son.
