Netflix has unveiled the first look at The Residence, an exciting new mystery drama set to debut on March 20, 2025. This Shondaland production, created by Paul William Davies (Scandal, For the People), is a fresh take on the classic whodunit genre, combining humor, suspense, and an eclectic ensemble cast.
What is The Residence about?
The Residence is a screwball mystery set within the White House, exploring its “upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs” through the lives of the diverse staff who work there. The series kicks off during a high-stakes State Dinner when a murder occurs, leading to an investigation filled with unexpected twists and turns.
Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black) stars as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department renowned for her wit, meticulous observation skills, and love of birdwatching. Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat) co-stars as Special Agent Edwin Park of the FBI, who is assigned to partner with Cupp. Despite his skepticism about her unconventional methods, their partnership is central to solving the mystery.
