Donald Trump recently met with Prince William, the Prince of Wales, in the Salon Jaune room at the UK Ambassador’s Residence during the reopening ceremonies of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral in December 2024, five and a half years after the cathedral’s devastating fire. During their conversation, Trump asked Prince William about his wife, Kate Middleton, who is recovering from cancer, and about his father, King Charles, who is also battling cancer. Trump expressed sympathy for the challenges the royal family is facing, noting that Prince William spoke warmly of his wife and father.
Trump also shared his thoughts on Prince William’s appearance, complimenting him on looking “very handsome” and noting that some people look better in person. The former U.S. President praised Prince William for his work, calling him “a good man” and commending his efforts.
The conversation seemed to have been a positive one, with Trump describing it as lasting more than half an hour and calling it a “great talk.” His praise for Prince William, however, might fuel speculation about his stance in the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as Trump has been openly critical of Meghan in the past. Trump’s positive remarks about Prince William suggest he might align with him in the Kate Middleton-Meghan Markle feud.
