Bruce Smith, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and Buffalo Bills legend, has made it clear that if the NFL season ended today, his vote for MVP would go to quarterback Josh Allen. After Allen led the Bills to a win over the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs, Smith praised the 28-year-old QB’s performance, stating that, “this is the best that I’ve seen him play.”
Smith acknowledged that Allen needs to continue his high-level play for the next couple of months to solidify the MVP award, but he also emphasized that Allen’s focus should be on more significant achievements, like winning the Super Bowl. Following the Bills’ impressive victory over the Chiefs, Smith believes a Super Bowl appearance is now very much within reach for Allen and Buffalo, encouraging the team to take the confidence from this win into future games.
Although Smith jokingly entertained the idea of joining Bills Mafia in jumping through a table to celebrate a championship win, he was quick to clarify that he’s not quite ready to take the plunge himself. However, he did say he would be there to cheer on others if the Bills manage to secure the ultimate victory.
