Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige teased big plans for the future of two of the most iconic superhero troupes – the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
Fans of the franchise are very familiar with both groups. However, up to now, they have played a limited role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This summer, Wolverine – a beloved member of the X-Men played by Hugh Jackman – officially joined the MCU with a starring role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Next year, the Fantastic Four leaps into action with their own standalone movie called The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

“Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU,” Kevin said about the Fantastic Four, via Deadline. He noted that First Steps will wrap in November. It’s due in theaters on July 25, 2025.
What’s next? “Then all those characters go right into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.”
Kevin also hinted that more members of the X-Men would slowly join the universe over the course of “the next few movies.”
“Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back,” he added.
Speaking of Wolverine, you won’t believe some of the actors who auditioned to play the iconic hero before Hugh was cast.
