Elle King is addressing her father Rob Schneider‘s recent public apology.
Back in August, the 35-year-old “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer slammed the 60-year-old actor and comedian for his comments about drag queens and the LGBTQ+ community and also reflected on him sending her to fat camp when she was a child.
She also said that her relationship with her father is “toxic and very silly.”
A few days later, Rob appeared on Tucker Carlson‘s show where he apologized for being an absent father to Elle, saying, “I want to just tell my daughter, Elle, I love you and I wish I was the father in my 20s that you needed and clearly I wasn’t and I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings.”
In a new interview, Elle reacted to Rob‘s apology and explained why she publicly called him out.

“But ultimately, I think an apology on Tucker Carlson is like a double negative, right?” Elle added. “Means nothing.”
She went on to say that she didn’t have ill intentions when she called out her dad, adding that she didn’t think her comments would get so much attention.
“I was not trying to hurt him,” Elle explained. “I never in a million years thought that that was going to go viral. I was just speaking about my childhood and about my truth. I was not trying to hurt him.”
In another recent interview, Elle opened up about her “hammered” tribute to Dolly Parton.
