Danny Trejo has issued a direct message to his celebrity peers, including Kim Kardashian, urging them to refrain from using the Los Angeles wildfires as a platform to push personal causes. According to Trejo, the priority should be helping the victims of the fires, not promoting political agendas.
He specifically addressed Kim Kardashian’s comments about the low wages paid to inmate firefighters, who are risking their lives to battle the blazes. While Kim advocates for raising their wages, Trejo disagreed, explaining that the primary incentive for inmates participating in this work is the opportunity to reduce their sentences, not the pay. He emphasized that most of the money earned by inmates goes toward restitution, meaning they likely won’t benefit much from any wage increases.
Trejo also noted that the focus on the wildfires should not be used to make the situation political, but rather to direct efforts toward relief for those affected by the devastation.
Additionally, Trejo had strong words for potential arsonists, warning that if anyone is found responsible for starting the fires, they would be harshly treated by fellow inmates, facing intense scorn similar to that faced by individuals convicted of heinous crimes.
