Sally recounted reaching for a cookie from a plate, and Betty allegedly remarked in front of others, “Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you dear, you don’t need a cookie.” Sally found this remark hurtful and felt it was a form of public fat-shaming.
While acknowledging Betty’s widespread popularity, Sally expressed that her personal experience with her was not as positive. She also mentioned that she wanted to share her story “now that she’s gone,” as Betty White passed away in 2021 at the age of 99. Despite this, Sally did not dismiss Betty’s legacy and seemed to recognize the affection many people had for her.
