A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, has shared details about the rapper’s upcoming felony assault trial, which stems from charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. A$AP Rocky was accused of shooting his former friend, A$AP Relli, in August 2022, but he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Despite this, a judge has ruled that the case will proceed to trial.
Speaking to Extra, Tacopina expressed that A$AP’s legal team is “ready to go” as the trial approaches. He acknowledged that the lengthy legal battle, which has been ongoing for over two years, has been difficult for both A$AP Rocky and his partner, Rihanna, as well as their family. The attorney emphasized that the team is eager to move forward and put the situation behind them.
In the interview, Tacopina also clarified that Rihanna is unlikely to play a role in the trial. He explained that A$AP Rocky is protective of her and does not want her involved in the legal proceedings. The couple was recently seen out together on a date, suggesting they are continuing to support each other during this challenging time.
