The announcement of the 2025 Oscar nominations has been delayed due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Academy voting, which began on January 8, has been extended as many members, who reside in LA, may be impacted by the fires.
A letter to Academy members obtained by *The Hollywood Reporter* reveals that the voting window will now close at 5 p.m. PT on Tuesday, January 14, instead of Sunday, January 12. As a result, the nominations announcement, originally scheduled for Friday, January 17, will now take place on Sunday, January 19.
In addition, several Academy events in the coming days have been either canceled or postponed, along with numerous other Hollywood events and productions. However, the 2025 Oscars are still scheduled to take place on March 10 on ABC, with Jimmy Kimmel returning as the host.
