Sebastian Stan had a memorable night at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, where he won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his role in A Different Man. The 42-year-old actor took to the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., to accept the honor on Sunday (January 5).
In his acceptance speech, Sebastian reflected on the challenges of making the film, stating, “It was not an easy film to make,” and urged for greater acceptance and understanding of disability and disfigurement. “Our ignorance and discomfort around disability and disfigurement has to end now,” he said. “We have to normalize it and continue to expose ourselves to it and our children encourage acceptance. One way we can do that is by continuing to champion stories that are inclusive.”
Sebastian also shared a heartfelt message for his girlfriend Annabelle Wallis, saying, “Annabelle, I love you,” and dedicated the award to his mother, who moved from Romania in search of a better life, and his stepfather, Tony, who played a crucial role in his upbringing.
In a sweet moment, his The Falcon and the Winter Soldier co-star Anthony Mackie congratulated Sebastian on his win during a presentation with Harrison Ford. Anthony humorously added, “We’re still friends with Sebastian Stan, by the way,” before forming a heart shape with his hands in tribute to his friend.
Sebastian was nominated alongside other actors including Jesse Eisenberg, Hugh Grant, Gabriel LaBelle, Jesse Plemons, and Glen Powell.
