Sabrina Carpenter recently spoke out about her dating prospects following her breakup with actor Barry Keoghan. The 25-year-old pop star, known for her song “Espresso,” and the 32-year-old Saltburn actor had dated for about a year before splitting earlier in December 2024. Although Sabrina has not directly addressed the breakup, she shared her thoughts on the idea that there are “plenty of fish in the sea” during a performance at Jack Antonoff’s The Ally Coalition talent show on December 17.
While introducing her song “Slim Pickins,” which she co-wrote with Antonoff for her upcoming album Short n Sweet, Sabrina commented on the idiom, saying, “I think it’s a big fat lie.” Her remark sparked speculation about her current outlook on love.
Regarding the breakup, the exact reason for Sabrina and Barry’s split has not been revealed. However, after rumors surfaced alleging that Barry had cheated on Sabrina, he deleted his Instagram account. The women involved in the rumors have since denied the allegations.
Sabrina continues to move forward, focusing on her music and performances, with her new album set to release soon.
