James Garretson, known for his appearance in Tiger King, was arrested in Florida this week for driving with a suspended license. The arrest took place on Monday night in Marathon, Florida. According to the police report, officers recognized Garretson from a previous encounter, checked his license, and found it to be suspended. Later that evening, when they saw him driving again, they pulled him over. Garretson provided an ID card instead of a driver’s license and was subsequently arrested.
Garretson, who previously worked with Joe Exotic and later became an FBI informant to help secure Joe’s conviction, suspects that his arrest could be linked to his involvement in the Tiger King series. He claims one of the officers remarked, “I know who you are. I’ve been watching you for a while,” though he says they did not explain the reasoning behind the arrest. After spending time in jail in Key West, Garretson was released on a $546 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance next month.
