Nicole Kidman recently shared her emotions and thoughts about the passing of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, who passed away in September shortly after Nicole’s arrival at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival. During a December 15 interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Nicole revealed the impactful final words her mother spoke to her before she passed.
Nicole recalled how, just before she was about to board a plane to return and be with her mother, Janelle said, “Maybe wait a minute because I think you just need to take care of yourself right now, Nicky.” Nicole reflected on this moment, stating that she is now taking her mother’s advice to heart and practicing more self-care, especially as she encourages other women to do the same.
Nicole also shared that her grandmother’s final words were, “Be happy,” and that her mother’s parting advice, “Take care of yourself,” has had a lasting influence on her. As a mother herself, Nicole expressed how important it is for her to prioritize her health to be there for her daughters.
“Obviously, I’m an older mother, so I want to be around for a long time for my girls,” she shared, expressing gratitude for her children and her dedication to taking care of herself for their sake.
Nicole’s new film Babygirl will be released on Christmas Day, adding another layer of personal significance as she navigates this emotional time.
