Attorney Bryan Freedman, who represents over 20 family members of Jose and Kitty Menendez, is strongly criticizing Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman. Freedman appeared on TMZ Live and accused Hochman of lying about his outreach to family members of the Menendez victims, specifically those who support the release of Erik and Lyle Menendez from prison.
Freedman took issue with Hochman’s recent interview on CNN, where the DA claimed he was open to meeting with both Freedman and the family members involved. According to Freedman, Hochman has not contacted the majority of the relatives advocating for the brothers’ release, except for Milton Anderson, who is on record as a critic of Erik and Lyle, calling them cold-blooded killers who deserve to remain in prison.
Freedman believes that Hochman is biased against Erik and Lyle Menendez and is not taking an impartial stance as the case heads toward a possible resentencing hearing next month. Freedman has already sent a scathing email to Hochman, challenging his claims about the outreach, and he continues to air grievances against the DA in the interview set to air on TMZ Live.
