The 2024 Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced, and the four players heading to New York City for the prestigious award ceremony are Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, Ashton Jeanty, and Dillon Gabriel.
This college football season has been a rollercoaster, with the expanded playoff format offering hope to schools like Indiana and Boise State while eliminating others like Alabama from postseason contention. As the season wraps up, all eyes are on the Heisman Trophy race.
Travis Hunter, a standout player for Colorado, and Boise State’s RB Ashton Jeanty are among the top contenders. Meanwhile, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who has led his team to the #1 seed, and Miami QB Cam Ward, a rising star, round out the finalists.
Gabriel has been exceptional this season, with a 73.2% completion rate (second in the nation) and a career touchdown record of 187, the highest in NCAA history. Hunter, named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, has recorded 92 receptions, 14 receiving touchdowns, and 1,152 yards. Jeanty, with a remarkable 2,497 rushing yards this season, stands as the fourth-highest single-season FBS rusher in history.
