The latest batch of Rhythm & Flow Season 2 episodes on Netflix has offered some revealing insights from contestants Jay Taj, Rome, and Sura Ali, especially regarding their battle rounds. Jay Taj and Rome reflected on their intense rap battle, which they both agreed was one of the most pivotal moments of their careers. Rome acknowledged that Jay Taj “played the room smarter,” especially with a few extra bars that seemed to sway the audience. Jay Taj, however, downplayed the extra bars, noting it was just two, but agreed that the battle’s concept, with contestants being cut from 14 to 7, added extra pressure.
Rome and Jay Taj also talked about how the battle would have been different if it were in their hometowns of L.A. and how some of the bars exchanged in that battle would have hit differently with their local crowd. Despite the fierce competition, both rappers seemed to appreciate the experience and the chance to face off in such a high-stakes environment.
On a more serious note, Sura Ali shared her struggle with health issues during filming. She revealed that she was dealing with a B12 deficiency, which went unnoticed until she got home and required two blood transfusions. She explained the extreme fatigue and hunger she experienced, which affected her ability to perform during the competition. Ali’s health scare put things into perspective for her, though she was ultimately able to recover and get the treatment she needed.
As Rhythm & Flow heads into its final episodes, fans are eagerly awaiting to see who will emerge as the champion of Season 2.
