Matt Rife, the 29-year-old comedian, has addressed the rumors surrounding his changing appearance, which some have speculated is due to plastic surgery. In his new memoir Your Mom’s Gonna Love Me, Rife attributes his transformation to late-onset puberty, which caused his face to become wider and his features more pronounced over a few months, leaving him looking significantly different from his appearance in 2017.
Rife humorously dismisses the rumors, noting that his physical changes led to a slew of online conspiracy theories about plastic surgery. He expressed frustration with medical professionals who publicly speculated about his appearance without ever meeting him, suggesting that such behavior should result in serious consequences, like losing their medical licenses.
He also touched on how being perceived as “good-looking” has not always been an advantage. Rife explained that it often complicates his life, especially in his profession as a comedian, and opened up about the struggles he faces, including anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Despite his success, he emphasized that beauty doesn’t shield anyone from life’s emotional challenges, and he is in therapy to navigate these issues.
As for his current endeavors, Rife is on tour, and fans can look forward to seeing him perform live.
