Peter Rosenberg, a host at Hot 97, is voicing strong criticism of Drake’s recent actions, including his decision to file a defamation lawsuit against Kendrick Lamar over the controversial “Not Like Us” (NLU) lyrics. On TMZ Live, Rosenberg expressed disbelief at Drake’s choices and pointed the blame partly at the rapper’s team, suggesting they’re giving him poor advice.
The lawsuit focuses on Kendrick’s lyrics implying Drake is secretly involved in inappropriate activities, with Rosenberg questioning the timing of Drake’s legal move. He believes Drake should have addressed the issue immediately after the song’s release, rather than waiting until public opinion settled against him.
Rosenberg also called out Drake’s recent behavior, including his use of an AI-generated Tupac track, public challenges to Kendrick for a rap battle, and questionable collaborations, which he believes indicate a sense of desperation following the fallout from “NLU.”
Additionally, Rosenberg speculated about Drake’s possible use of bots to manipulate streaming figures and legal strategies to counter Universal Music Group (UMG). However, he strongly defended Kendrick, asserting that the rapper doesn’t need AI assistance and has always excelled on his own merit.
With Kendrick Lamar set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show next year, Rosenberg doubts the controversial lyrics will resurface in his set but emphasized that the feud has amplified scrutiny on both artists.
