Andy Cohen, the producer behind The Real Housewives franchise, recently confirmed that there are no immediate plans to bring The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) back for a new season. While Cohen acknowledged the intense drama between cast members Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice in Season 14, he emphasized that the focus is on the other Housewives franchises currently in production.
In a conversation with Deadline on November 21, Cohen discussed the exciting prospects for the network’s upcoming seasons, including the highly anticipated new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which he described as “outstanding.” He also mentioned the ongoing production of The Real Housewives of Miami and praised the latest season of Orange County, marking one of its most successful years.
Regarding The Real Housewives of Dubai, Cohen confirmed that the show had been put on pause after two seasons, and there are no guarantees for a Season 3. He expressed his love for the show and its cast, but indicated that the focus is currently on other Housewives franchises.
Cohen also addressed the recent criticisms of the new Real Housewives of New York cast by former star Bethenny Frankel. While Frankel dismissed the new group, Cohen expressed his belief in the current cast, highlighting their aspirational qualities and the fresh perspective they bring to the New York series.
While RHONJ fans will have to wait for updates, Cohen emphasized that the Housewives franchise is taking a more careful approach to ensure the success of its shows.
