Paris Jackson is opening up about her late dad Michael Jackson‘s close friendship with Elizabeth Taylor.
Paris, 26, appears in the new BBC docu-series Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar, and in the first episode, Paris explained why she believes that the “Thriller” superstar chose the movie icon to be her godmother.
Keep reading to find out more…“I think because I was growing up in the spotlight,” Paris explained, via People. “There’s definitely a part of him that knew that we would have a very similar experience.”
“I was homeschooled and because of that, I don’t know what it was like to be around other kids my age,” Paris added. “Hanging out with adults, all the time. And I think it was just the same for her.”
Also in the episode, Paris reflected on growing up as the daughter of one of the most famous people in the world.
“I can’t speak for everybody who grows up in the spotlight, but there’s not a single normal thing about that,” Paris said.
Michael died at the age of 50 in 2009 while Elizabeth died at the age of 79 in 2011.
