Hannah Einbinder‘s famous mom reacted to her loss at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening (September 15).
The 29-year-old Hacks star was up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the HBO comedy. The Bear‘s Liza Colon-Zayas won the award.
After Liza was announced as the winner, Hannah‘s mom, Laraine Newman, who was in the original cast on Saturday Night Live, took to social media to share quite the reaction.

“F–K. THE. BEAR,” she wrote on X/Twitter with many exclamation points before taking it down.
She then shared a follow up – “I think the Bear is a great show but IMHO it’s not a comedy- not even a dark comedy.”
After someone replied asking if the original post was necessary, Laraine responded, “I know. I took it down. Not my best moment. 😟”
Earlier in the night, she also expressed her frustration over The Bear being categorized as a comedy.
“Every time I think about The Bear being in the comedy category for the Emmys I can feel an ulcer developing,” she wrote.
While Hannah didn’t win in her acting category this year, the show did pick up the Outstanding Comedy Series win, as well as Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Jean Smart.
